Dear Farzad,
I have read your column in Parsi Times and have a query which i hope you could assist me with. I have completed my BMS (Bachelors in management studies) and have a 2 years work exp in the field of online marketing. I know want to pursue my masters but confused in what field (last option is an MBA in marketing). Based on my interest I have shortlisted 2 fields and would really want to know more about them with respect to courses to do my master's in and career/job opportunities for the future as well.
The following are:
1. Corporate Training & Development (read you are a corporate training specialist yourself)
2. Adventure Tourism
Do kindly let me know as it would be of great help.

Response from Farzad Minoo Damania – Career Counsellor in Mumbai

Dear Zeus,
Thank you for reaching out to me. Please find the response to your query below:
Adventure Tourism: If you want to work on administration and tour management, you may consider pursuing PGDM / MBA in Tourism Administration or Travel Management. If you want to work as an instructor or trainer in adventure sports, you may first take training and become a certified trainer or coach. This can be followed by interning or working with clubs and institutes that offer scuba diving, trekking, gliding, mountaineering, and river rafting. This field is passion-driven. So physical fitness, adventuristic attitude, team spirit and leadership skills are important.
Training and Development: To start as a corporate trainer, you should be an expert in the subject on which you are training. Work on your communication skills, presentation skills and industry specific skills. Start as an entry level assistant trainer and gain work experience as a trainer. ISTD (Indian Society of Training & Development) offers diploma course in Training and Development that is recognized by Govt. of India. You may also consider train the trainer program such as Dale Carnegie TTT.
Best Regards,
